The Graduate Business Student Association
The GBSA is an official campus organization the represents the Graduate Programs at Western Carolina University. The GBSA is founded on a Three Pillars concept, this concept serves as our purpose and we structure events that are inline with our philosophy. The first pillar is to provide a foundation for Graduate Business students to meet and build professional relationships with one another that helps to build a sense of unity and promote a community connection among the Graduate programs at WCU. Our second pillar is Networking, we organize a speaker series and other events to promote networking possibilities for our members and local CEO's, business professionals, and like minded individuals. We strive to maintain networking events that are mutually beneficial for all parties involved. Our third pillar is volunteering, we believe strongly in giving back to our community and leveraging our specialized knowledge learned in the Graduate Programs to fill needs that local businesses and organizations may have.

The highlight of Stuart's presentation was the end. Like a successful hostage negotiation, the 15 captives made a dash for the door as soon as they knew it was over. Not having shown his entire deck of 90 slides, Stuart announced he would email them to everyone just as hostage number 15 darted

AGELESS WONDER: Friday we could've introduced perhaps the oldest Person of the Week ever. But instead, I'll profile the youngest at heart, Richard Renfro of Sylva. He's 102 years old and sets the pace in the Harris Regional Hospital Cardiac Rehab Group. The former WWII vet and Western Carolina University School of Music professor is a gregarious example of endurance. 6pm Friday on WLOS ABC 13 , don't miss this man's story. Plus great vintage old photos of the farm boy from Missouri. Way to go Mr. Renfro! Rebuilding Plan After WCU Fire
Just down the road, in Haywood County, lies an old, abandoned prison surrounded by fences. Haywood Pathways Center has a plan to reclaim this prison and convert it into a homeless shelter, half-way house and soup kitchen. Ty Pennington (Host of Extreme Makeover on ABC) is running a contest for the best community service project. The winner of the contest will get $50,000 and have Ty Pennington and his crew help remodel for a day. Several of our own WCU Marketing faculty are handling the social media and marketing strategy behind this deserving project.
How can you help? Simply VOTE for this project and help us #TearDownTheseFences! To watch a video about this project and to VOTE click this link: http://bit.ly/1vJi54g. Then, please share! Thanks!
