As an UNC Asheville community, we are all partners in sustainability.

In case you missed it, earlier this week Campus Dining partnered with Campus Operations to hold a food waste buffet! They collected all the food discarded from Brown Dining Hall and separated it into categories to see what was thrown out. Responses were collected in a post-meal survey to help suggest ways to reduce food waste.

Stay tuned for the final weight of all the food waste and ideas that come out of the survey.

Happy Advising! Did you know you can earn a Sustainability Certificate right alongside your undergraduate degree here at UNC Asheville? A total of 13 credits, this certificate aligns with multidisciplinary oriented students to add a sustainability related component to their education. If you are interested in the certificate, please email Dr. Casey King to chat about which courses will work best for you!

If you are interested in applying sustainability to your educational path, pursue the Interdisciplinary Certificate in Sustainability here at UNC Asheville. Only 13 semester hours, this certificate program is meant to engage and integrate the many areas of academic pursuits with focuses on sustainability. Courses are offered every semester, and the certificate must be completed in conjunction with your undergraduate degree.
