Garden & Gun just named Asheville one of the South's finest music towns, and Bulldogs helped make it happen! 🎸🏔️

Drop of Sun Studios, founded by UNC Asheville Music Technology alumni Adam McDaniel '16 and Alex Farrar '14, gets a shoutout in the feature for recording artists like MJ Lenderman and Animal Collective. What started in a basement grew directly out of the connections and training they found here on campus.

From Shindig on the Green's 60th summer to the Grey Eagle's packed calendar, Asheville's music scene runs deep, and our graduates are helping shape it.

We're nearly 2 weeks away from our first EmBark Orientation session! 🐾

Incoming Bulldogs, this is your chance to explore campus, meet new friends, connect with campus resources, register for classes, and start feeling at home before the fall semester begins.

Summer 2026 EmBark dates:
• June 15–16
• June 18–19
• June 22–23
• June 26–27
• July 11 (Transfer EmBark)

EmBark Orientation is required for all incoming students and is packed with campus tours, overnight stays, activities, academic advising, and opportunities to build your Bulldog community. 💙

🎓 Congratulations to the newest graduates of Leadership Asheville!

Last week, UNC Asheville celebrated the latest class of the Leadership Asheville Flagship Program as they were recognized for completing this transformative ten-month journey. These incredible community leaders have spent the year exploring healthcare, education, arts, economic development, and social equity right here in Western North Carolina.

Since 1982, more than 1,400 program graduates have gone on to shape a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable Asheville. This class is next. 💙
