Fine Arts, Music, and Communication at A-B Tech
Our Art and Music courses satisfy the General Education Humanities/Fine Arts Requirement for both the Associate in Arts (AA) and Associate in Science (AS) degrees. We also offer an Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) Degree, which prepares students for transfer into a university Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) program—typically with junior standing, pending
portfolio review. Art students may also pursue a variety of creative career paths, including Interior Design, Graphic Design, and other visual arts disciplines. In addition, A-B Tech offers a Communication Pathway as part of the Associate in Arts degree, designed for students planning to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a BA or BS in Communication. This pathway is available fully online and emphasizes:
Public speaking and interpersonal communication
Media and visual literacy
Conflict management and human communication skills
