🐾Get to know our June Pathfinder, Dallas Tibbs 🐾

Dallas Tibbs’ journey began in Willow Wood, Ohio, where he was raised in a large, hardworking family.

The oldest of five, Tibbs graduated from Symmes Valley High School in 2008.

“I had a great upbringing, always supported by my family and encouraged to be the best version of myself,” he said.

From an early age, Tibbs says he learned the value of determination and grit. That mindset, combined with hands-on work experiences, helped shape his work ethic and career trajectory.

Every ACTC diploma tells a story of perseverance. Behind every degree are challenges overcome, sacrifices made, and countless moments that require determination.

For Debra Pancake, senior administrative assistant at Ashland Community and Technical College, earning her associate in arts and science degrees meant navigating the demands of a full-time job, family responsibilities, and college coursework, all while experiencing ACTC from both sides as a student and employee.

“Working at ACTC inspired me to pursue my degree because I see firsthand the positive impact that education has on students and the opportunities it can create,” Pancake said. “As an employee, I wanted to continue growing professionally while accomplishing a personal goal of completing my degree.”

ACTC proudly served as a community partner for the inaugural Carter County Ignite Appalachia Bootcamp & Pitch Competition, a six-week entrepreneurial program designed to support and empower local small business owners.

Hosted in partnership with the ECDI Women’s Business Center of Central Appalachia, the program provided hands-on training, mentorship, and resources to help participants strengthen their business ideas and prepare to pitch for startup or expansion funding.

ACTC is proud to announce that the Medical Assisting program has achieved a 100% pass rate on their National Certification exam, meaning that all five graduates of the 2026 Medical Assisting cohort have successfully earned their national certification.

This achievement reflects the dedication of ACTC students and the quality of the college’s Medical Assisting program, which prepares graduates with the administrative, clinical, and laboratory skills needed to thrive in today’s healthcare settings.
