SOU alum John Roy ’12 is continuing his coaching career as the offensive line coach at Western Colorado University. With years of experience at Northern State and Rocky Mountain College, Roy brings a strong background in developing offensive linemen and leading successful run games. We’re proud to see another Raider making an impact in collegiate athletics!❤️🖤

For the third year in a row, Southern Oregon University’s Digital Cinema program has been named one of MovieMaker Magazine’s “30 Best Film Schools in the U.S. and Canada”, and it’s the only program recognized in Oregon, Washington or Idaho!
From hands-on production experience to industry connections and The Crew Experience, SOU students are learning to turn creative ideas into real films right here in Ashland.

Piers Dennis is a versatile filmmaker and director known for his authentic storytelling, strong creative relationships, sharp editing, and emotionally compelling work across film, music videos, and branded projects.

Meet Dr. Jesse Longhurst, SOU alum and Dean of the School of Education!
A longtime educator and passionate scholar, Dr. Longhurst’s work focuses on rural, remote and island education. From researching schools on the tiny island of Sark to connecting with educators across the Pacific, she is dedicated to understanding how education can help rural communities thrive.
Now serving as Dean, Jesse continues to bring her expertise, curiosity and passion back to the university that helped shape her journey.❤️🖤
