OSU Seafood Lab This page is intended to provide updates regarding the ongoing activities occuring at the OSU Seafood Lab.

The OSU Seafood Lab is one of Oregon State University's research experiment station locations. It is part of the Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station that is based at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, OR. It houses 3 faculty dedicated to improving seafood quality and safety. It typically has 10-12 graduate students, visiting scholars, post-docs, and interns conducting seafood research.

Education and outreach are at the heart of the OSU Seafood Lab’s mission. Last week, Clatsop County’s TRIO program visited the Seafood Lab. We were able to share our current projects, explore the science behind seafood, and highlight the role food science plays in our communities.
