THE CURRENT PROJECT

1999, June 14

Marsha Reilly and Glenda Frost, secretary at the time, discovered water leaks in the Organ Chamber, as well as plaster falling from the ceiling.
John Muller , president of Muller Organ Company expressed his concern about the danger to the instrument.
Repairs were done to the rubber roof covering the chamber. In the same
letter Mr. Muller noted that cracks had begun to appear in some of the
leather components. He submitted a proposal to repair the wind reservoirs.
However, this work was not done.

2005, January 19

A letter from Muller Organ Company details issues regarding
aging leathers in pipe organs.. At this time the console was experiencing
some issues that indicated problems with leather and felt degradation.
He estimated that leathers in the wind reservoirs could last another two to
ten years . Obviously we are on borrowed time here.

2006
A letter from Muller Organ Company to Curt Sherman, treasurer, for a proposal to complete releathering and repairs. This proposal was in a range of $61,000-$86,000. No action was taken at this time.

2006-2011

Various discussions were held about the best way to proceed.

2011
Muller Organ Company provided a list of options to complete the work of restoring the organ to like new condition. In consultation with John Muller the decision was made to go with a three- phase option.

May 30, 2014

Contract signed for Phase I
This work included new keytops – replacing worn ivory with bone - restore, stain and buff the black keys, clean wire contact system. Also the pedal keyboard was restored to like new condition.
Regulation of key height and key action was accomplished. This work was completed in early 2015.
