OHIO’s beautiful residential campus is a center for academic, social, cultural and recreational activities. Housing and Residence Life strives to engage, motivate and challenge students using our mission, values and goals for guidance. The department is responsible for the administration and programming within a housing system of 35+ residence halls across three residential greens that house over 7,000 students. We take pride in creating community and cultivating leaders across Ohio University by providing students with not only a safe and comfortable place to live, but also a thriving and vibrant educational community.

We are hiring!

We’re looking for an Assistant Director for Conferences and Events to join the Housing and Residence Life team in Athens, Ohio.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced event professional who enjoys creating engaging experiences and bringing people, teams, and logistics together. This role supports a wide range of events across campus, including admission events, conferences, special events, summer programs, guest housing, and other campus experiences.

The Assistant Director will help coordinate and manage events from planning through ex*****on, collaborate with campus partners, and supervise and develop a team of 25 to 35 student staff. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, building relationships, and creating memorable experiences for prospective students, families, campus visitors, and conference guests.

Halloween weekend is creeping closer! Planning to have a guest stay with you?

Halloween Guest Registration

📅 Opens: Monday, Oct 5 at 9 a.m.
⏰ Deadline: Monday, Oct 19 at 5 p.m.

Each residential student may register one guest for Halloween weekend. Your guest must be registered in advance, and the registration form must be fully completed by the deadline. Be sure to talk with your roommate(s) about your guest plans before submitting your registration.

Guest approvals will be communicated on October 26.
