OCTUBAFEST 2026 KICKS OFF THIS WEDNESDAY!

📅 Wednesday, October 7 | 8:00 PM
📍 Glidden Recital Hall | Ohio University

The 27th Annual Ohio University OCTUBAFEST kicks off with a special performance by the HILLSIDE BRASS 5+1 Ensemble!

In a rare appearance, Hillside Brass steps in for OhioBrass, OU’s faculty brass quintet, whose fall recital has been postponed due to health issues. We’re grateful to have this terrific group kicking off month-long event!

The ensemble brings together a unique mix of connections: guest artists David Porter and Daniel Adamczyk, both former OU graduate students; faculty emeritus John Schlabach; and current faculty members Jason Smith, Roger Braun, and Lucas Borges. And one more connection? Five of six are members of the Ohio Valley Symphony Orchestra!

The program will feature a variety of musical styles, making this a great way to launch another exciting OCTUBAFEST.

Come join us Wednesday evening for an outstanding night of brass music! We hope to see you there!
