Alternative grading system update

One of the main concerns students have in our advising, tutoring, and coaching is about the new SP20 grading policy. While this is too much info to pack into 280 characters, you can see the alternate grading policy on the COVID19 FAQ page: https://www.ohio.edu/news/2020/03/alternative-grading-system-update

Today we are pleased to share that we have developed a flexible, alternative grading system as well as additional adjustments to key academic policies for Spring Semester 2020.

Hey Bobcats, we miss you, but we have tutors ready to help you succeed with your classes via online tutoring. Here’s a quick guide to get you started from Barrett Jackson, a Lead Tutor in the Academic Achievement Center.

We are still open for business!

Students, to access tutoring services, please follow the instructions below:

1. Sign up for tutoring as usual on TutorTrac.ohio.edu. Our 12 hours in advance requirement for all booking and cancellations will still apply.

2. Your tutor will create a Teams Calendar event. MS Teams is free to all OU students as part of the MS Suite. You will receive an email in Outlook once this event has been created. The email will give you an option to “accept” the meeting. It will also contain a link that reads “Join Teams Meeting.” Do not click this link yet.

3. On the date and time of the appointment, use the “Join Teams Meeting” link in the email to connect with your tutor. Clicking the link will open a prompt from Microsoft Teams asking if you would like to use the web browser or the app. If you do not have the desktop app, the web browser works great! Your OU login will get you on Teams.

4. It may ask you to type in your name, followed by a prompt stating “Someone from the meeting will let you in soon.” Follow the prompts on the screen.

5. Your tutor will connect with you shortly.

Contact [email protected] with any questions or concerns.
