Ted Adams brings an impressive resume of experience working with large corporations and great appreciation for the Voinovich School to his second year on the school's Advisory Board. 🐾

Prior to holding executive roles at Starbucks and L Brands, Ted worked for various state government officials, including former governor and U.S. Senator George Voinovich.

In that role, one of his colleagues was Greg Browning, the current Advisory Board chair and former chair of the Ohio University Board of Trustees. Collaboration between the two former colleagues continued into the corporate world and led to Ted's participation as a Voinovich School advisor.

β€œIt's an opportunity to contribute to something that's already working. I spent the first 11 years of my career in public service, so I see the value of what they do. I get who they are in their ethos, and I was fortunate that Voinovich kind of embodied that and they're connected in an inextricable way, so I've tried to pattern my professional experiences in that way.”

Tracy Kelly is a two-time OHIO alumna who credits her time at the Voinovich School with providing the hands-on learning, mentorship and professional foundation that prepared her for a career dedicated to serving others. 🐾

Tracy's career began at Ohio University Lancaster before earning her master of public administration (MPA) degree. Following her MPA, she joined Big Brothers Big Sisters serving Athens, Vinton, Washington and Meigs counties.

In her role as the executive director of the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation, Tracy connects community members with opportunities to improve access to quality healthcare across Central and Appalachian Ohio.

"Even before college, I knew I wanted a career helping people. What I didn't realize was that there was an entire nonprofit sector built around serving communities. Through Ohio University and the Voinovich School, I discovered nonprofit leadership as a career path and knew it was exactly where I belonged." πŸ’š

Benny McCament turned a Master of Science in Environmental Studies (MSES) degree from OHIO into a successful career with the state, and is now a member of the school's advisory board. 🐾

After completing his MSES degree, he stayed with the Voinovich School for five years before working at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). He was appointed chief of the ODNR Division in 2022.

Currently, he is the executive director of the Interstate Mining Compact Commission, a key federal advocacy group on mining issues.

β€œBeing an MSES grad and working at the Voinovich School and having that environmental background – the Voinovich School has always been interested in water quality in the region – my goal is to bring that perspective to the board so that particular area is represented in discussions about the future of the school and what direction they want to go."
