On Oct. 16, the University of Georgia dedicated the Mahoney Entrepreneurship Hub, home of the UGA Entrepreneurship Program and housed in the Terry College of Business, in honor of Mark Mahoney, recognizing his professional achievements and his continued investment in entrepreneurship education and experiential learning for UGA students from all academic disciplines.

Mahoney (BBA ’83), CEO & Co-Founder of Jackrabbit Technologies, has pledged to support the college and its entrepreneurial initiatives.

“It’s been a joy for me to mentor and work with entrepreneurs, whatever age or stage they’re in,” Mahoney said during the dedication on Oct. 16 in front of a large crowd of family, friends, faculty and longtime supporters of the UGA Entrepreneurship Program. “It’s really my passion to see them blossom. The vibe and energy in this place is incredible. You want to see the next generation of entrepreneurs? Look at these students.”

The 2026 UGA Supply Chain Advisory Board meeting brought together Terry students and industry leaders for conversations about the evolving supply chain landscape, with a focus on current trends and challenges in procurement.

The annual meeting featured an expert panel with Jordan Downs, Karl B. Manrodt, Daniel Meier and Sara Park, who shared their industry perspectives and insights with students preparing to lead the next generation of supply chain innovation.

One of the most meaningful moments was seeing the Terry community come full circle as alumnus Daniel Meier returned to campus to share his experience and offer guidance to students following a similar path.

These connections are at the heart of the UGA Supply Chain Advisory Board, bringing industry expertise into the classroom, strengthening relationships between alumni and students, and helping prepare future business leaders.

Speaking to students from the University of Georgia at the UGA Chapel for the 2026 Mason Public Leadership Lecture, Southern Company President and CEO Chris Womack shared how a public service mindset has guided his career from Capitol Hill to the executive boardroom.

During the Fall 2026 Signature Lecture, hosted by UGA Institute for Leadership Advancement, Womack highlighted the responsibility corporate leaders have to strengthen the communities where they operate:

"Any institution — whether it’s a company, a university, whatever it may be — its members live and work in those communities where we operate. As a result, we have a requirement, a responsibility, a duty to make sure we’re making those communities better."

From navigating complex infrastructure decisions to tackling societal challenges through public-private partnerships, Womack emphasized that adaptability, coalition building, and transparent communication are essential leadership traits for driving real-world impact.

The Correll Family Foundation represents one of the most enduring philanthropic partnerships in UGA history. Today, Elizabeth Correll Richards leads the foundation and carries on the legacy established by her late parents, Ada Lee BSEd ’63 and A.D. “Pete” Correll BBA ’63. She also serves as a UGA Foundation Trustee and was the inaugural chair of Georgia Women Give.

The Correll Family Foundation’s impact is anchored by Correll Hall, the inaugural building of the Terry College Business Learning Community, and by a $1 million investment to support the School of Medicine. The Correll Scholars Program, established with a $5 million gift, provides a comprehensive collegiate experience for students with significant financial need.

Thanks to these life-changing investments and Elizabeth’s active leadership, the Correll name is synonymous with opportunity and excellence across the University.

Truist teammates also help students develop critical professional skills by leading immersive learning experiences, serving as the Terry College of Business Employer of the Day and participating in advisory boards for academic programs.

Truist was a strong partner to UGA in its founding of the Innovation District. A generous gift from Truist established the Truist Community Innovation Initiative and named the Truist Plaza outside of the Delta Innovation Hub. “Mentorship is the greatest indicator of my success. If someone only gets five minutes with me, I want them to know that they have someone who is really listening. Whether they want interview advice at 2 a.m. or just someone to talk to, I want to be the conduit that helps people get what they need.”

SGA president Trey Wilson (BBA ’27) has emerged as a major advocate for career readiness. To ensure students at the University of Georgia have access to the tools and literacy skills they need to thrive after graduation, his SGA cabinet is working to build an AI-resilient university. Last year, as part of UGA’s $800,000 AI pilot program, they helped distribute more than 2,000 AI licenses across campus.

That instinct to aid his peers also led him to co-found the Keystone Fellowship, an accelerator program in which students develop professional skills. Wilson spent more than 800 hours building the program in his first year at UGA. Today, with the help of a $50,000 Deloitte Local Impact Grant, the fellowship works with 20 corporate partnerships, benefits 300 annual fellows, and takes students across the country to Silicon Valley and New York.

To support the next generation of UGA founders and honor a leader who helped build our entrepreneurial community, the UGA Entrepreneurship Program has established the Robert H. Pinckney IV UGA Idea Accelerator Endowed Fund.

Endowed by Hugh Tarbutton, Jr. (BBA ’86), the fund provides permanent support for the University of Georgia Idea Accelerator, a four-week business boot camp where students across all disciplines turn ideas into viable ventures through rigorous testing, financial literacy training, and investor pitching.

"Bob grew the Entrepreneurship Program into a thriving community that connected students with entrepreneurs, coaches, mentors, investors and donors. The Idea Accelerator is an essential program that furthers the legacy Bob started."

Bob Pinckney, the program’s first director who passed away in 2025, was instrumental in establishing the university-wide Certificate in Entrepreneurship and championing experiential, practice-based learning. This gift ensures his vision will continue empowering UGA student founders for years to come.

Congratulations to Marketing and Entrepreneurship student Caroline Kersey, founder of Caroline’s Cheese Straws, for taking home first place and $2,500 at the first fall UGA Entrepreneurship Program Idea Accelerator pitch competition at the Mahoney Entrepreneurship Hub!

What started in 2024 as a way to buy her first car has expanded into a thriving business supplying catering companies and specialty gift shops across Georgia.

We also want to celebrate our runner-up founders for their outstanding pitches, with 2nd Place going to Ashreeti Sharma (BBA ’23) with Ashreeti Beauty, and 3rd Place going to Aniket Talanki with LOCUS.

Shoutout to all the innovative student and alumni founders who pitched their ventures, ranging from AI employee onboarding to local music maps, junk removal, and goal-tracking social platforms. The UGA Entrepreneurship Program’s Idea Accelerator serves as a 4-week "business boot camp," giving UGA students and Athens community members direct access to experienced advisors, investors, and peer feedback.

Small steps lead to big impact! In honor of Campus Sustainability Month at the University of Georgia, Terry College tested out a new waste-reduction effort at our Homecoming tailgate, swapping out standard event supplies for compostable plates, napkins, and cutlery, alongside dedicated compost bins on site.

Thanks to Jim Berry (Director of Terry’s Sustainable Business Initiative), Kris Moore and our Terry Events team (who worked directly with caterers to source and test compostable supplies!) and campus facilities, we’re actively finding new ways to put sustainability at the heart of Terry traditions.

From event catering to long-term campus infrastructure projects, Terry is committed to testing new ideas, learning as we grow, and leading by example. Go Dawgs!
