One weekend, two screenings of epic cinema at the Athena Cinema! Thank you to all who attended the BFA Capstone Screening and the MFA and HTC Thesis Screening last weekend, it was such a joy to share our students' culminating achievements with the community. Ohio University School of Film invites you to the 2026 MFA and HTC Thesis Showcase at the Athena Cinema on Saturday, May 2nd at 7:00 p.m. This annual event celebrates the culminating cinematic achievements of the 2026 graduating MFA and HTC class with films by Mohamed Essam Abouelenain, MJ Golzari, Zinn Rogers, Salome Sulaberidze, Gift Sukez Sukali, and Alaa Shameri. The wait is finally over! Ohio University School of Film's Capstone Screening 2026 is coming to the Athena Cinema this Friday May 1st at 7pm. We are overjoyed to showcase 11 marvelous short films created by Capstone students over the course of the past year, featuring: Solace Directed by Vince Bonnani, Did I Wait Too Long? Directed by Jay Cline III, When They Came Home Directed by Bryce Goodman, The Misfired Affair Directed by Eli Kaltenecker, Gerald Directed by Owen Keller, Country of Ghosts Directed by Jonna Lutz, Whimsical Directed by Michael Mylen, Death of a Dancer Directed by Ella Niles, Side Effects Directed by Robin Oldaker, Basic AF Directed by TJ Sondag and Zero Dollar Man Directed by Xavier Thevenin. Check out these stunning BTS photos from Director Ella Niles' BFA Capstone film "Death of a Dancer". "Death of a Dancer" follows an ambitious dance student navigating the challenges of chronic illness.
