This July, UGA Summer Academy launched the Summer Academy Roadshow at the UGA Tifton campus, bringing hands-on learning opportunities closer to home for South Georgia students. Through experiences in healthcare and robotics, participants explored future career pathways, developed new skills, and discovered what's possible through the University of Georgia's commitment to education, outreach, and opportunity.

Bringing educational opportunities to students where they are. 📍🐾

This summer, 33 middle and high school students gathered on the UGA Tifton Campus for the very first Summer Academy Roadshow!

For 25 years, Summer Academy has inspired curiosity and future career paths. By bringing hands-on learning directly to local communities, we're helping break down geographic barriers to higher education and inspiring Georgia’s future workforce.

Instead of asking South Georgia students to travel to Athens, the Georgia Center brought the University of Georgia experience directly to them. Campers dissected pig hearts in Mini-Medical School Summer Academy, built robots in Robotics camp, tested mobility tech, and connected with real-world healthcare and STEM mentors.

Because when opportunity meets students where they are, there’s no limit to where they can go.
