Our Annual Alumni Panel is an event where we bring back recent OU and OWIB grads to talk to our members and the public about their careers, experiences, and advice to help further the students' careers in multiple disciplines of business. Each panelist will have the opportunity to talk about their experiences and company, then we will open the floor up to any questions you all may have! We will kick off the evening with a keynote speaker, Barbara Allushuski, starting a little past 6pm, so members who have a class that ends at 5:55pm will be able to stroll in! Then we will break for rotations between several panelist's rooms split among core majors represented in the College of Business.

Today American Greetings graciously opened their doors to OWIB thanks to Mark Mantin! We were able to tour their new headquarters in Westlake (even the executive suite!). It was truly an honor to get to talk to OU alum, now current CIO of American Greetings, Lisa Dietrich! We also were able to connect with an OWIB alum from the graduating class of 2017 Courtney Woodworth. It was truly a great way to end our #OWIBnetworkingtrip2019 and meet with OU alumni including Jeffrey Zaleski,. Thank you!

TRUMP CAN'T STOP LAWSUIT BY RAPE ACCUSER, COLUMNIST E. JEAN CARROLL Donald Trump and his lawyers have used every trick in the book to stop or delay a lawsuit by famous columnist E. Jean Carroll, who says she was raped by Trump in a dressing room at Bergdorf Goodman department store in NYC 25 years ago. But a Manhattan judge held on August 7, 2020 that Trump "is not above the law" and the suit can go forward. Carroll's account of the rape appears credible, and she still has the dress from the attack -- hence a DNA test may prove her allegation. Of course Trump must be considered "innocent until proven guilty," despite the fact that he has lied over 20,000 times to the American people and has been accused of similar attacks by over 20 women. For details on the rape allegation, see the Courthouse News link below. https://www.courthousenews.com/trump-cant-pause-suit-by-rape-accuser-e-jean-carroll/ In a related story, for the detailed, shocking actual court documents filed in 2016 against Trump for alleged rapes of a 13 year old girl by Trump and Jeffrey Epstein at parties in NYC, see the link below. This lawsuit included two witnesses' supporting sworn statements. However, this suit was withdrawn after the plaintiff reportedly feared retaliation. https://cdn.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/Johnson_TrumpEpstein_Lawsuit.pdf
CDC'S STANDARD FOR COVID CONTACT DANGER IS MUCH, MUCH WEAKER THAN WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION'S -- AND IT MATTERS FOR YOUR CHILDREN!! Here is the CDC Official Guidance on what constitutes a dangerous Covid contact situation: "Close contact is defined by CDC as someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic clients, 2 days prior to positive specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated. The World Health Organization (WHO) additionally includes persons with direct physical contact with a probable or confirmed case, direct care for a patient with probable or confirmed COVID-19 disease without using proper personal, and other situations as indicated by local risk assessments." I have 40 years in bureaucracy, and can translate the above statement into English: "We the CDC are under tremendous pressure from this moron in the White House, so we have come up with this BS measure which is an AVERAGE of how long it might, perhaps, maybe take to get infected from another person. We are smart enough to know that if an infected person coughs in your face, even though you only spend 10 seconds with him, then you are toast. So we know that with this "15 minutes" drivel we are prostituting ourselves, but we don't want the Orange Idiot to fire us. So we are going to add this OTHER sentence saying that the W.H.O. has a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STANDARD, which focuses on the much more reasonable concept of "direct physical contact with a probable or confirmed Covid case..." That way we have covered our behinds. NOTE that we also know that with this double-barreled language we have given the Orange Menace what he needs to prematurely force open the schools and endanger our kids -- but we don't care!"
