As recently announced by the San Mateo Daily Journal, former Menlo standout Melanie Cordero '18 was just named the next Head Women's Wrestling Coach at Menlo-Atherton High School. Cordero has served as an assistant for the Bears over the past two seasons, helping lead them to back-to-back CCS Titles. Congrats Melanie! Go Oaks!!

It was a weekend for the record books for Menlo College Men's Wrestling as Blaysen Terukina and Anthony Orozco won national titles, the Oaks finished second for the first time since 2004, Head Coach Joey Martinez was named Coach of the Year, and the team earned the Team of Character award. On top of all that, Orozco became the second two-time champ in program history and also became a four-time All-American this weekend. How 'bout those Oaks!

Champions! #2 Women's Wrestling had six individual champions on Sunday in Ashland, Ore., leading to the first ever Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship! 10 Oaks finished top three to earn All-CCC status and Precious Bell was named Outstanding Wrestler while Coach Bareng earned Coach of the Year honors. The Oaks now prepare for NAIA Nationals in Jamestown, N.D. on March 13-14!

Earlier today, top-ranked Tiana Jackson was named a Red Lion Player of the Week by the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC). Jackson went a perfect 3-0, knocking off a trio of ranked wrestlers, to help Menlo to a NWCA National Dual Championship!

Women's Wrestling made a statement on Saturday, knocking off the #1 and #2 teams in the NAIA in the same day to win the 2020 U.S. Marine Corps/NWCA Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships in Kentucky. Menlo downed life 25-18 in the semi's and Campbellsville 22-19 in the finals to earn the title!

It was a great first day for the #4 Oaks at the 2020 U.S. Marine Corps NWCA Multi-Division National Dual Meet Championships in Louisville. Menlo had a first round bye then earned a 33-10 win over #9 Oklahoma City. Menlo will take on #1 Life (Ga.) at 7:30 a.m PST Saturday.

What a weekend for Precious Bell, Tiana Jackson and the Oaks! Bell won the 2019 US Open Senior Nationals at 76kg for the second time and Tiana Jackson advanced all the way to the finals at 57kg, finishing in second. In total, four Oaks past and present punched their ticket to the Olympic Trials in April: Bell, Jackson, Alleida Martinez and Katherine Shai '10 all moved on!
