EAS September Student of the Month! 💚
Katherine Poch is a fourth-year Environmental Science major with a minor in Global Development and an interest in climate change. She recently received the Rutt Bridges Award for her work conducting exploratory data analysis on Southern Ocean eddy properties in the Georgia Tech Oceanography (GATO) Laboratory led by Dr. Lily Dove. This summer, she participated in the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) with the Ohio State University Graduate School where she worked with Dr. Jay Martin and Dr. Mahesh Tapas to present her analysis of nutrient concentrations from agricultural monitoring sites in Northwestern Ohio and development of a field-scale SWAT+ watershed model. Katherine has also been awarded the Reducetarian Fellowship and will be serving as a student volunteer for the National Weather Service during the Fall semester.
