Studies in Sexualities
Call for Summer Proposals

Studies in Sexuality has some funds available for short-term summer writing workshops. SIS calls for proposals from faculty and graduate students working in areas related to race, sexuality, and gender. Successful proposals can receive up between $1000-$1500 to organize a dissertation or faculty writing workshop for July and August.

Workshops can meet for a weekend, a week, or on a weekly basis. They can be located remotely, but they must take place in person.

Proposal deadline is June 30, 2025, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Please submit 300 words on the theme, structure and number participants in the workshop, and a budget detailing how monies will be spent. Monies may be used to rent facilities for a week, weekend, or month and to organize transportation to the facility. Proposals can also include a $250 stipend for the workshop coordinator. All receipts must be submitted by August 15.

Please send proposals to [email protected], with your name, department, rank or year, and theme for proposal.
