Life at EBC also comes with shared responsibility.

Each morning from 7:00 – 7:30 am, all Cadets participate in their assigned PSP (Property Stewardship Program), a practical way to help care for the campus they call home. From maintaining residence and administrative spaces to supporting other campus areas, everyone has a part to play.

It’s about more than getting things done. PSP gives Cadets practical experience in caring for and stewarding Salvation Army property while building responsibility, teamwork, and a spirit of service.

Making space for God first thing in an already full day is a holy habit that makes the biggest difference in their hearts and their walks with Jesus.

Some callings take the long way around.

For Capts. Arnaldo and Niurka Peña, becoming Salvation Army officers meant leaving Cuba, learning a new language, and waiting years to enter officer training in the United States.

But despite every obstacle, they kept going.

When they began serving in the U.S., they didn’t forget where they came from. They served Spanish- and English-speaking congregations together while maintaining connections with the Army in Cuba.

Their perseverance didn’t just get them through the journey; it helped them build bridges for others.

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that legacy isn't only about where we come from, but more importantly, what we make possible for those who come after us.

Tomorrow, our Second-Year cadets will learn where they will serve for their Christmas assignments. Today, we lift up a prayer for them.

EBC community, join us in praying for our Second-Year cadets as they prepare to be sent.

”Dear God, prepare our cadets' hearts for wherever You send them.

May the wisdom they have gained through Scripture, classrooms, community, and experience guide the way they serve.

Help them learn from those around them, and give them courage to step with faith into unfamiliar places. Shape them into leaders who serve with compassion, respond with grace, remain teachable, and reflect Jesus in both the visible and unseen moments of ministry.

Whether the assignment feels challenging or exactly where they hoped to go, help them trust that every place can become a place of formation.

Prepare the places they will serve, and prepare them for the people they will meet. In Jesus name, amen.”

Summer is over, and fall is in full swing. Our cadets are back home on campus. And now, it’s time to settle into the next part of the year. That means getting back into routines, reconnecting with community and their session-mates, and making time for their own health and wellness.

One October tradition at EBC? The annual 5K run with Kevin Chamlee. This year, it will take place on October 20th at 1:30 pm.

A little running and a lot of Cadets cheering each other on!

🙏 As the Southern Territory continues its 24/7 Prayer Journey leading to our Centennial Celebration in June, our EBC campus joins believers across the territory in setting aside time to pray for God's continued leading, blessing, and mission.

Join us in praying for our territory, officers, soldiers, communities, and the generations still to be reached with the Gospel. "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127:1)

In 2015, Jordyn Moran was about six years old when he played Kid General and told the whole territory that "prayer is also awesome and it works a lot." Eleven years later, he's back at Evangeline Booth College, teaching music at the Atlanta Kroc Center and playing drums on its praise team.

Right now, the EBC is in the middle of its week of prayer. Through Saturday, the staff and cadets are keeping the territory's watch in the 24/7 Prayer Initiative, one week in a year of prayer that carries every division to the Centennial next June.
