The Isabel Hampton Robb Award recognizes her outstanding contributions to public health, nursing education and expanding care for underserved and rural communities across the Southeast. We loved celebrating our #1 BSN ranking with the Emory Nursing community.

We enjoyed King of Pops popsicles, music and snapped photos with friends and colleagues. The celebration was filled with excitement and gratitude. Most importantly, it was a chance to recognize the incredible students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters who helped make this achievement possible.

Exciting news for Georgia's future nursing workforce. The School of Nursing has received a four-year, $2.99 million federal grant to help address nursing shortages across the state, especially in rural and medically underserved communities.

Through the Emory Transition-to-Practice Program (ETPP), the grant will help prepare Emory nursing students for careers in high-need areas and create new opportunities for frontline health care workers to become registered nurses.

The initiative is led by Dr. Desireé Clement in collaboration with Drs. Quyen Phan, Rebekah Chance-Revels, Wendy Gibbons and Heather Venrick. Together, they'll strengthening access to care and growing Georgia's nursing workforce. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Our community had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Tania de Villiers at the Lillian Carter Center for Global Health & Social Responsibility's annual Global Nursing Research Lecture last month.

As Head of the Division of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Cape Town, Dr. de Villiers shared the remarkable story of her leadership in national efforts that helped secure recognition of Palliative Nursing as a standalone nursing specialty by the South African Nursing Council.

Thank you, Dr. de Villiers, for sharing your expertise and inspiring conversation with our faculty, students, and staff. And a special thanks to the Lillian Carter Center team for hosting a meaningful and successful event.

This one-day symposium offers a unique opportunity to put AI chat tools to the test using real-world nursing scenarios. No technical background, coding experience or prior AI knowledge is needed. Every team will leave with a practical recommendation they can bring back to their unit.

Faculty, students and volunteers from Emory Nursing joined together to provide vital health services to more than 200 community members at the 20th Annual Boat People SOS Health Fair and Flu Shot Clinic. Led by Associate Clinical Professor Dr. Quyen Phan, the event reflected Emory Nursing's ongoing commitment to advancing health and well-being across metro Atlanta.

This event relies on the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm of Emory Nursing volunteers year after year to serve the diverse communities of northeast Atlanta. We are incredibly proud of everyone who helped deliver compassionate, high-quality care and make a meaningful difference.

Congratulations to Professor Ike Choi, Clinical Instructor Michael Garbett, and Assistant Research Professor SeJung Kwon for receiving the 2026 National League for Nursing Education Research Grant–Dorothy Otto Research Award! Their research will examine how AI-powered standardized patients can help nursing students build confidence and strengthen their end-of-life communication skills.
