In recognition of World Mental Health Day, join Georgia Tech Human Resources, the Center for Mental Healthcare and Resources and the Wellness Empowerment Center, for Tap & Paint, a unique wellness experience designed to help you relax, recharge, and express yourself creatively. Participants will learn the art of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Tapping, a simple mindfulness practice that can help reduce stress, manage emotions, and promote a sense of calm with special guest Mitsuko Ito. Afterward, you'll channel your thoughts and feelings into a free flow painting activity, creating a personal masterpiece while practicing self-care.

Whether you're looking to de-stress, connect with others, or simply take a break from your busy class or work schedule, this event offers a supportive space for students, staff and faculty to explore creativity and wellness. No artistic experience is necessary, just come ready to tap, paint, and prioritize your mental well-being.

What is Emotional Wellness?

Emotional wellness is more than just “feeling good.” It’s about building the skills to navigate life’s ups and downs while honoring the full range of emotions we experience.

🌱 Coping with life’s stressors — finding healthy ways to manage challenges and difficult moments.

💪 Displaying resiliency — adapting, recovering, and continuing forward when things don’t go as planned.

💭 Expressing a full range of emotions — giving yourself permission to experience and acknowledge every emotion, not just the positive ones.

🗣️ Understanding the appropriate setting to express your emotions — recognizing when, where, and how to communicate what you’re feeling.
