Clair Mullan, Elizabeth Heywood Wyman, and Jessie Wallace Hughan on January 2, 1897 at Barnard College. Today, Alpha Omicron Pi is an International Women's Fraternity, with 188 collegiate chapters and 320 alumnae chapters in Canada and the U.S.A. The values on which AOII was founded help lead us in the decisions we make and the behaviors we exhibit in our daily lives. We are inspired to promote th
e values of simplicity, integrity, circumspection, tolerance, generosity, personal dignity, and love. Our lives are to be living symbols of these values that we hold in common. They enable us to go with character and confidence into the world around us, confidently knowing AOII is ours, offering friendships and opportunities throughout our lifetime. The Gamma Sigma Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi was founded at Georgia State University on October 6, 1956 and has since maintained it's high standard of excellence by developing lifelong friendships, inspiring academic excellence and lifelong learning, and developing leadership skills through service to the Fraternity and our community. As an organization, we host sisterhood retreats, socials, educational workshops, philanthropy events that support both the AOII Foundation and Arthritis Foundation, and so much more.
