From the Bahamas to Atlanta, Journalism graduate Philena Styles (B.A. ’26) turned her Georgia State experience into a story of growth and achievement. Through her involvement with the National Association of Black Journalists, the 1913 Society, and GSU's Public Relations and Marketing Communications Division, she embraced every opportunity to learn and lead. Now, she’s ready to inspire others in marketing, social media, and storytelling.

Ted Turner, CNN founder who pioneered cable TV news dies at 87|CNN

Ted Turner, the media maverick and philanthropist who founded CNN, a pioneering 24-hour network that revolutionized television news, died peacefully Wednesday, surrounded by his family, according to a news release from Turner Enterprises. He was 87.
