Today, we commemorate — a day of remembrance, reflection, and celebration.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom. Juneteenth stands as a powerful reminder of the enduring pursuit of liberty, justice, and equality.

As brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., we honor the sacrifices of those who came before us, celebrate the resilience and achievements of Black communities, and recommit ourselves to the continued work of uplifting humanity.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. 🇺🇸

Their courage secured freedoms they would never fully see, and their legacy lives on through every generation that benefits from their selfless service.

On this Memorial Day, the brothers of Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. extend our deepest gratitude to those who gave all in defense of our country. May we never forget the cost of freedom or the heroes who paid it.

On May 20, 1920, the Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was chartered in Atlanta, Georgia — establishing a legacy rooted in service, scholarship, advocacy, and excellence that continues to shape generations today.

From our charter members to the brothers who carry the torch today, we honor the vision, sacrifice, and commitment that built one of Alpha’s most historic chapters.

As we celebrate 106 years of Eta Lambda, we recommit ourselves to the mission of developing leaders, uplifting our communities, and preserving the standard of excellence that has defined this chapter for over a century.

100 years. A century of wisdom. A lifetime of legacy.

Today, the Atlanta Alphas proudly celebrate the 100th birthday of Bro. Robert A. Bob Willis — a living embodiment of the principles of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and the enduring spirit of the Eta Lambda Chapter.

Through Jim Crow and the fight for civil rights.
Through change, progress, and new generations.
Through triumphs and trials that would have broken many—he stood tall.

As a Black man in America for over a century, Bro. Bob Willis has witnessed history, shaped communities, lifted lives, and embodied the true spirit of Alpha Phi Alpha.

SERVICE. BROTHERHOOD. SCHOLARSHIP. ACHIEVEMENT.
HE LIVES IT. WE HONOR IT. WE CONTINUE IT.
