In addition to an Economics major, the School offers undergraduate students an Economics minor and a Certificate in Economics. For students interested in developing core knowledge and marketable skills in two separate disciplines, the School offers two joint degree programs: a joint Global Economics and Modern Language degree; and an Economics and International Affairs joint degree. Economics offers a Professional Master of Science degree with a concentration in economics. Consistent with the Institute’s technological emphasis, the Professional Master’s program focuses upon technology, regulation, market structures, and international economics. Further, the program equips students with value-added quantitative and data handling skills desired in the private and public sectors. degree program in Economics is unique in its focus on the common globalization and innovation issues that interconnect environmental economics, industrial organization and international economics. The program emphasizes the economic forces that generate the impetus for individuals to compete globally and analyzes the interrelated effects that these forces have on the environment, international trade, and the behavior of firms in a variety of industrial sectors.
