Within the esteemed Department of Nutrition, we are committed to providing an exceptional academic experience that sets you toward professional excellence in Nutrition and Dietetics. Our comprehensive offerings encompass:
- Undergraduate programs: BS in Nutrition, Nutrition Science, and Nutrition and Wellness pathways.
- Graduate programs: online MS in Nutrition Science, Coordinated Program, including didactic learning and supervised dietetic internship, for aspiring dietitians, and Ph.D. program in Chemistry with a concentration in Nutrition.
- Certificate program: Health and Wellness Coach, accredited by NBC-HWC. What distinguishes our institution? 🎉 The Campus Cooking and Produce Prescription (CPRx) Program is celebrating its 2nd anniversary!

The program held its first class on October 15, 2024, at Georgia State University, offering in-person cooking demonstrations, nutrition education, and free 10-lb produce bags with kitchen tools to help students build cooking skills and improve access to fresh, healthy foods.

🥬 Since its launch, CPRx program has distributed 9,000+ pounds of food to GSU students!

Here’s to continuing our efforts to promote food access, nutrition education, and student well-being! 💙

🎓 GSU Nutrition was represented at the 14th International Pediatric Intestinal Failure & Rehabilitation Symposium, held earlier this month in Omaha, Nebraska!

We’re proud to highlight Liv Plageman, a Ph.D. student in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition, who presented a roundtable titled “Electrolyte Solutions: What’s the Best Recipe?”
Dr. Nucci also presented a research poster titled “Growth after Parenteral Nutrition Weaning by Growth Sufficiency at Weaning and Intestinal Transplant Status in Children with Intestinal Failure.”

🌱 Our Coordinated Program students recently spent time at the Decatur Farmers Market, connecting with the community and sharing samples featuring produce and products available at the market!

As part of their outreach hours, students had the opportunity to put their nutrition knowledge into practice while engaging with community members and promoting nutritious, local food options. 💙

We’re proud to see our students learning and making connections beyond the classroom!

🍳 We were excited to have hosted the Atlanta Teaching Kitchen Network in our Culinary Medicine Lab!

Jessica Todd, who leads our culinary medicine courses, shared how the program has evolved and highlighted collaborations that have expanded its reach across Georgia State, including partnerships with Athletics, Nursing, and other campus programs.

We’re proud to be part of a growing community connecting nutrition education with meaningful, hands-on experiences both in the classroom and beyond. 💙
