📢 Save the Date — GA-FANS 2027!

We are excited to announce the 3rd GeorgiA Campus Food And Nutrition Security Solutions Summit (GA-FANS), taking place on March 2, 2027, at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.

GA-FANS is a collaborative “think-tank” event that brings together students, campus leaders, community partners, and others committed to advancing food and nutrition security across Georgia’s higher education campuses.

At the 2027 Summit, attendees will have opportunities to share ideas, explore gaps and needs, celebrate successes from across the state, and engage in dialogue aimed at advancing innovative solutions and fostering collaboration between academic and non-academic partners.

✨ Here are some highlights from the 2026 GA-FANS Summit, capturing the conversations, connections, and ideas that brought our community together.

🎉 Welcome to the Department of Nutrition!

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Liz Ludwig-Borycz to Georgia State University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition.

Dr. Ludwig-Borycz brings an interdisciplinary background in nutritional epidemiology, global health, and climate change and health equity. Her research explores the connections between food insecurity, diet quality, health disparities, chronic disease, cognitive aging, and sustainable diets.

🎉 Congratulations to Aron Csuti!

We’re excited to celebrate Ph.D. student Aron Csuti, a student in Georgia State University’s Ph.D. in Chemistry with a concentration in Nutritional Sciences, on receiving the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Doctoral Scholars Fellowship.

The fellowship provides $20,000 per year for three years, along with support to attend the annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring. The SREB Doctoral Scholars Program supports doctoral students in completing their degrees and pursuing careers in higher education.
