Georgia Tech President รngel Cabrera has been named the new president and CEO of The Aspen Institute. Arriving on The Flats in 2019, Cabrera became the 12th president of Georgia Tech and led the Institute through a period of remarkable growth.
During his tenure, enrollment increased by 55%. At 56,000 students, Georgia Tech is now the largest university in the state. Under Cabrera's guidance, Georgia Tech has surpassed $1.4 billion in research awards and is a top-ranked university in the country in total research expenditures among institutions without a medical school.
In the last seven years, Georgia Tech has developed major research centers in AI, neuroscience, and space โ continuing to position Georgia Tech as a global research institute dedicated to progress and service in Atlanta, the state of Georgia, the nation, and the world.
