Honors Courses Produce Success

The individualized and rigorous curricula available to Honors College students drive academic success, with more than 60 percent attending graduate school. While maintaining their high grade point average, Honors College students have a greater graduation rate, and almost double the number of Honors students completing minors and second majors. With a flexible gradu

ation policy, Honors College students are encourage to use their Honors credit hours to explore courses within and external to their major. Honors College graduates are building a national reputation for Auburn University through their academic prowess giving them the edge in the boardroom, in the research lab, and in the field where they fulfill Auburn’s land-grant mission to improve our state, nation, and world.

As Week of Service comes to a close, we are reflecting on a week filled with service, learning and connection.

Throughout the week, Honors students engaged in hands-on volunteer projects while also participating in discussions, films, simulations, presentations and group activities designed to deepen their understanding of community needs and civic engagement.

Week of Service is about more than giving back. It is an opportunity for students to learn from one another, hear new perspectives and explore how they can make a meaningful difference both on campus and in their communities.

Thank you to our speakers, community partners and student participants for making this week such a rewarding experience. We are excited to see how the lessons and connections made this week continue long after the program ends.

Building connections through service.
Today, Week of Service participants continued serving with O Grows Opelika, The Community Market, the Food Bank of East Alabama and Kreher Preserve & Nature Center. By returning to these organizations, students were able to deepen their impact while supporting ongoing community initiatives.
The afternoon featured a service fair where students met with local nonprofits and community partners. The event provided an opportunity to learn about important needs across the region, explore volunteer opportunities and make connections that can lead to future service and engagement.
