In 2017, the Auburn University Parent and Family Association began identifying faculty and staff who have had a positive impact on Auburn students or their families. The award recipients demonstrate what it means to be an Auburn person and exemplify the values of the Auburn Creed.

Honorees are nominated by the parents and families of those they teach, mentor, support, and serve –the students. Families and students are encouraged to identify faculty or staff members who have been especially supportive or influential in promoting their success.

Did you know that every time Auburn fans step into Jordan-Hare Stadium, they're walking into a legacy built by some of the most influential figures in Auburn history.

Ralph "Shug" Jordan led Auburn football from 1951-1975, earning 176 victories and bringing home the Tigers' 1957 national championship.

Dr. Clifford Leroy Hare was one of Auburn's earliest football players, a team captain, faculty member, and passionate Auburn advocate who helped shape the Auburn spirit we know today.

Their contributions were honored in 1973 when Auburn's stadium officially became Jordan-Hare Stadium.

While his name isn't part of the stadium's title, Pat Dye's impact is impossible to miss. As Auburn's head coach from 1981-1992, he guided the Tigers to four SEC championships, expanded Jordan-Hare into a premier college football venue, and helped bring the Iron Bowl to Auburn for the first time in 1989 which was previously played in Birmingham.

Today, Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium ensures his legacy remains part of every Auburn home game.

Happy Hey Day Auburn Family!

One of Auburn’s most cherished traditions is happening today as students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends across campus wear name tags and greet one another with a simple “Hey!”

Rooted in a tradition dating back to World War II, Hey Day celebrates the welcoming spirit and strong sense of community that define the Auburn Family.

Your student can join in on the celebration at Campus Green from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. with live music, free food, games, prizes, and more!

🚨 Tropical Storm Isaias is strengthening and will likely become a hurricane within the next 24 hours. Auburn community, prepare for heavy rainfall, gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 mph, and a low-end threat of a tornado.

🕒 **Timeline**
Friday afternoon: Rain begins.
Friday evening: Rain intensifies and becomes more persistent.
Overnight Friday into Saturday: Expect the heaviest downpours and strongest winds during this time.
Late Saturday morning: Rain chances will start to taper off, leaving only a few isolated showers to linger into Saturday night.

Meet DJ Ozz, returning for his fourth straight Fall Family Weekend Tailgate!

A 1984 Auburn graduate with a career spanning five decades, DJ Ozz has become a beloved fixture at community events throughout the Auburn area, entertaining crowds at celebrations such as Auburn Downtown Trick-or-Treat, Toomer’s 2000, the City of Auburn’s Fourth of July Extravaganza, and 37 consecutive City of Auburn Daddy-Daughter Date Nights. He has also brought the party to more than 645 weddings.

His mission has always been simple: make every event AUsome!

Did you know Toomer’s Corner has been an Auburn celebration tradition for over 100 years?

Toomer’s Corner, located at the intersection of College Street and Magnolia Avenue, is where Auburn fans gather to celebrate major victories. The corner is named after “Shel” Toomer, a former Auburn football player who founded Toomer’s Drugs in 1896, a landmark that has served the Auburn community for more than 130 years.

The tradition began when Toomer’s Drugs housed the town’s only telegraph. After away-game wins, employees tossed ticker tape onto nearby power lines. Over time, the tradition evolved into throwing
toilet paper.

While the exact start of toilet paper rolling is debated, it became popular after Auburn’s 1972 “Punt, Bama, Punt” victory over Alabama. A quote from player Terry Henley about “beating the No. 2 out of Alabama” helped inspire the iconic celebration.
