GEDI team members facilitated the "Project Popsicle" case study exercise in Prattville on Wednesday and in Opelika on Thursday. In this contest, 2 finalist communities compete to attract a new facility that will produce plastic automotive parts.

GEDI partners with ACCMA Alabama to provide the Local Government Professional Management Certification Program. This program is designed for all leaders and aspiring leaders in Alabama’s local governments, increasing their specialized knowledge and skills around the political, social, and economic complexities of public administration.

We had a wonderful time in Prattville today discussing Essentials of Economic Development with all our program participants and our facilitators Dr. Joe Sumners of Wicked Solutions and David Rodgers from the Mobile Chamber. Thanks to Central Alabama Electric Cooperative for hosting us at their beautiful facility and providing lunch for our group.

Proven economic development finance experts, Phillip Dunlap and Don Smith, will delve deep into the art and science of financing economic development projects and structuring deals.
