Thank you for visiting us at MTC @ Northwest Indian College! Always happy to host you all!

Yesterday afternoon, Northwest Indian College hosted visitors from the Bureau of Indian Education and Bureau of Indian Affairs at our Muckleshoot Extended Campus location.

NWIC President Dr. Lexie Tom, NWIC Muckleshoot Site Director Nicole Cabral, Native Environmental Science Dept. Chair Dr. Emma Norman, Native Studies Leadership Dept. Chair Dr. Christina Grendon and current and former NWIC students took turns sharing their stories and experiences of attending and teaching at NWIC.

Our NWIC staff, students and alumni were joined by BIE Director Tony Dearman, BIE Associate Deputy Director of Post-Secondary Education Stephanie Conduff, and Jarrod Lowery, Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs, for the discussion.

We're grateful to our Muckleshoot Extended Site for hosting and providing snacks, and to our visitors for the opportunity to share more about NWIC and the impacts of our programs. 🙌🏼

As we head into a new academic year, we want to take a moment to reflect on one of MTC’s highlights of this year: our 2026 Doctoral Cohort graduates!
In partnership with the University of Washington Tacoma, this doctoral cohort brought together an incredible community of Native students and Native faculty. To celebrate their hard work and accomplishments, please enjoy this special video honoring our cohort students and staff!

Thank you Moonlight Media for beautifully capturing the people and moments that made this journey so meaningful.
