Industry Executive Board member Nancy Juneau, Chief Executive Officer of Juneau Construction Company, has been elected to the National Academy of Construction (NAC) Class of 2026.

The NAC recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the construction industry, providing opportunities for its members to advance the profession and develop future industry leaders.

Recently, a team of students received first place in Appalachia Service Project's Race to Build competition, building a home in only three days for a couple who lost their home in Hurricane Helene.

Race to Build allows students to work with Appalachia Service Project to build homes for families across Central Appalachia, strengthening Appalachian communities and inspiring the next generation of servant leaders.

Congratulations to our team on receiving first place and for supporting a great cause!

Alum Mike Humphrey ‘20 returned to Auburn to expand his professional understanding and capacity with the executive offerings.

Humphrey graduated from Auburn University Samuel Ginn College of Engineering before taking a position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Division.

graduate student James Satchell was recently recognized by the Alabama Remodeling Excellence Awards.

For the past six years, Satchell has owned and led Alabama Construction Pros., based in Montgomery. In April, he won first place in the $100,000–$200,000 Kitchen Remodel category for his work on Wynlakes Kitchen Remodel Project.

The award-winning project transformed a dilapidated outdoor kitchen into a 1,000-square foot kitchen that can entertain up to 30 guests.

Bryson Moon has been playing music for a decade... now, as an senior, he balances his schoolwork with the responsibility of being a Drum Major in the Auburn Bands. 🥁

“Band has taught me many lessons that have helped me in Building Science, but I think the most important lesson is to put effort into everything,” he said.

As part of the 2026 Japan and Spain study abroad program, students traveled from Japan to Spain to explore how history, culture and innovation shape the built environment.

In Barcelona, students experienced the city's rich architectural heritage through guided visits to the Gothic Quarter, Sagrada Familia and other iconic landmarks, examining historic preservation, adaptive reuse and the influence of Antoni Gaudí's visionary designs on modern architecture.

In Valencia, the program focused on cultural heritage, sustainable urban development and innovative construction. Students visited historic sites including the Valencia Cathedral, El Patriarca and Hospital de San Juan, while also exploring contemporary architecture, local construction practices and the city's approach to preserving its rich architectural legacy.

The Spain experience also included collaborative learning with faculty and students at the Universitat Politècnica de València UPV, where Auburn students presented their final projects and engaged in meaningful academic and cultural exchange. A heartfelt thank you to UPV Professors María José Viñals and Luis Cortés, along with their colleagues and students, for their outstanding hospitality and for making this unforgettable learning experience possible.
