Federal Student Aid recommends gathering a few things before you begin, including your StudentAid.gov account information, contributor details, tax information, asset records, and a list of schools you’re considering.

30+ BAS Software Development students from Green River College attended today's Costco IT Intern Invitational in Issaquah! The event included guest speakers, campus tours, and conversations with hiring managers about upcoming internship opportunities.

It's wonderful to see so many of our alumni working at the company, including Heather Monatt, one of the event's featured speakers.

Every BAS Software Development student gains access to a robust career-support ecosystem that's rare for a community college program, built through partnerships with Mentors in Tech and CodeDay. These resources are woven directly into the curriculum, giving graduates a real edge in today's competitive, AI-driven job market.

✅ Structured mentoring: Every student is paired with two mentors working in the tech industry for ongoing, personalized career guidance.

✅ Junior open source project: Early in the degree, students contribute to a real open source project, gaining hands-on experience as part of a development team.

✅ Senior open source capstone project: Later, students take on a larger, multi-month open source contribution guided by an experienced engineer mentor, a standout addition to any resume.

✅ Meet-the-employer events: Employers visit campus for exclusive events focused on community college hiring, giving students direct access and insight they wouldn't otherwise get.

✅ Paid stipends: Some students can even earn a stipend for the time they spend on mentoring and project work.

✅ Conference access: Occasional trips to regional tech conferences that includes funding for travel and admission.

Hey Data & Software students at Green River College, our fabulous student club, BoardMasters, meets every Tuesday this quarter at 12pm in AC 250, starting September 29.

It's a hands-on space to practice technical and behavioral interviews, build out your resume and LinkedIn profile, work through whiteboarding challenges, and sharpen your data structures & algorithms skills. It's also a great way to connect with students across cohorts.
