Huge congratulations to our College of Education Dean Jeffrey Fairbrother on this tremendous honor!

The American Kinesiology Association has named Jeffrey Fairbrother, dean of Auburn's College of Education and Wayne T. Smith Distinguished Professor, as the recipient of its 2027 Jerry R. Thomas Distinguished Leadership Award for doctoral degree-granting institutions. The honor is among the association's highest recognitions of leadership and service in kinesiology and will be presented during the AKA Leadership Workshop in San Antonio, Texas, in January. Gretchen Oliver, a Wayne T. Smith Distinguished Professor and Auburn Alumni Professor in the School of Kinesiology in Auburn’s College of Education, was inducted as a Fellow into the National Academy of Kinesiology at the organization’s annual meeting, held Oct. 1-3 in Portland, Oregon. We were honored to serve as a visit location for Opelika Middle School’s annual Career Quest event. Students toured our Locomotor and Movement Control Lab, Brain and Behavior Lab, and Sensorimotor and Rehabilitation Technology Lab. They learned about how kinesiology impacts whole body health and wellbeing. Thank you, Opelika Middle School!

Congratulations to Auburn College of Education faculty C.J.
