Augusta University Libraries

Augusta University Libraries There are two Augusta University libraries, Reese Library on the Summerville campus and Greenblatt Library on the Health Sciences campus.

There are two Augusta University libraries, Reese Library on the Summerville campus and Greenblatt Library on the Health Sciences campus. The Augusta University Libraries provide books, ebooks, government publications, journals, audiovisuals, databases, historical collections, and more, in support of student and faculty research. The Libraries provide research assistance in person and electronically and also provide tours and instruction classes for undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Students can request appointments with librarians, including specialized medical reference librarians, for more in-depth research needs. Thousands of research journals are available electronically – in person and remotely - through research databases held in GALILEO and elsewhere, with many available full text.

Mission: The Libraries lead the enterprise in providing comprehensive information resources and services in support of the teaching, discovery, and clinical care mission of our student‐centered research university and academic medical center.

Read the Mueller Report through the Augusta University Libraries

Form your own opinion by reading the Mueller Report for yourself. Authorized in May 2017 and completed in March 2019, Special Counsel Robert Mueller examined questions regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether or not there were attempts to impede the investigation. Through the Federal Depository Library Program, Reese Library’s Government Information Department offers you direct access to the Justice Department’s report to Congress (some redactions apply). From the Special Collections & Institutional Archives: At both Reese Library’s Special Collections and Institutional Archives and at and Greenblatt Library’s Historical Collections and Archives, the records of the University are arranged by “record groups.” This allows us to group similar records together, and to highlight sub groups within our larger record groups. Each record group is assigned a prefix, and a set of numbers. [ 591 more words ]

Our Favorite Fictional Librarians, Ranked

Celebrate #NationalLibrarianDay by checking out New York Public Library's favorite (or not so favorite) fictional librarians. Which fictional librarian is your fave?

Pop culture isn't always kind to librarians. So, in honor of National Library Week, we thought we'd pick half a dozen of our favorite library workers—good and evil and in between—and give them some fictional performance evaluations, complete with numerical rankings.

A week ago we held a Black History Month Culmination Reception in collaboration with Multicultural Student Engagement, and The Office of Diversity & Inclusion. The reception was to highlight Reese Library's displays, that we had curated with YOUR input! We enjoyed engaging, thought-provoking speeches by Corey Rogers, local historian from Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History, and from our keynote speaker, Dr. Seretha Williams- and we all enjoyed good food and conversation!

Heritage Unit News: Finding Aids

From Special Collections & Institutional Archives: This month I’ll be highlighting one of our recently processed collections, MSS 401, the Walker family papers. The Walker family was a prominent Augusta family during the 18th and 19th centuries, and the Walker family papers document the descendants of Freeman Walker (1780-1827), who was a U.S. senator and lawyer who moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1797.
