Dr. Richard Hoffman, ColoradoSPH associate professor and longtime supporter, and Colorado's former Chief State Epidemiologist, is featured in a recent 9NEWS (KUSA) story reflecting on Colorado’s response to the 1993 hantavirus outbreak.

Drawing on decades of public health leadership, Dr. Hoffman shares how collaboration, investigation, and community impact shaped the response to what was then a “mystery virus.” His work, alongside partners across states, the CDC, and Navajo Nation, helped identify a new strain of hantavirus and protect communities across the country.
