The Boys Golf Team continues to make school history! Two Titans are headed to IHSA Sectionals, and the team has set a new school tournament record.

Despite steady rain throughout Wednesday’s Regional at Sycamore Golf Course, the Titans posted a team score of 321, breaking the previous school tournament record of 323, set at last year’s Regional. IMSA finished tied for fifth.

Junior Cyrus Dumser fired a 74, the lowest score among the Regional’s 10 individual qualifiers, while senior Cooper Lee carded a 79.

Senior Aidan Chang, junior Ravi Shah, and sophomores Jason Cho and Sruthan Kondaveeti also contributed to the Titans’ record-setting team performance.

Cyrus and Cooper will compete in the IHSA Sectional at Kishwaukee Country Club in DeKalb on Monday. We wish them the best of luck as they represent the Titans, and congratulations to the entire team on an outstanding Regional performance!

This week marks 40 years since IMSA’s charter class stepped onto campus and began an extraordinary experiment that would grow into the IMSA we know today. Back then, the “Old” Caf was just the Caf, the TV Pit was for watching TV, and everyone called the Main Building home.

To those first students, parents, faculty, and staff who took the leap, embraced the adventure, and helped build IMSA from the ground up, thank you! We wouldn’t be here 40 years later without you.

Here’s to those early years, orange carpet and all!

Thank you to Dr. Nok and the IMSA Archives for providing these throwback pictures.
