Rheumatic diseases are autoimmune and inflammatory conditions that cause the immune system to attack joints, muscles, bones and organs. There are many types of rheumatic diseases but some of the most common are rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, vasculitis and gout. The mission of the Division of Rheumatology is to improve lives of all individuals

from diverse backgrounds with rheumatic disease through the following:
• Education of medical professionals, and individuals and families with rheumatic diseases
• Extraordinary treatments and patient care
• Cutting-edge research
• Disease prevention
