The Student Council is a group of baccalaureate nursing students who are interested in making every student’s experience at the College of Nursing extraordinary. Student Council aims to support activities that are consistent with the mission of the College of Nursing such as improving human health by educating practitioners in nursing, delivering exemplary health care, and conducting research in the health sciences. Student Council also aims to support activities that are consistent with the QSEN competencies for Professional Nurses:

Patient-Centered Care
Teamwork & Collaboration
Evidence Based Practice
Quality Improvement
Safety
Informatics

Student Council Activities:
* Peer Mentor Program – Providing Senior student guidance to incoming College of Nursing Juniors
* Communication – Acting as a liaison between the BS student body and the administration to facilitate proactive feedback, issue resolution and process improvements
* Community Outreach – Supporting students in opportunities to practice and hone their QSEN skills
* Fundraising – Offering College of Nursing merchandise or memorabilia with a portion of proceeds dedicated to student support and activities
* Recognition – Acknowledgment and support of groups and organizations that are in alignment with the goals of the BS student body and Student Council mission
* Unity – Hosting or sponsoring events that bring College of Nursing students together with their peers

Hello all! CUSNA and the CON’s Student Council have teamed up to collect donations for The Gathering Place as the winter (slowly) approaches.
The Gathering Place is the only daytime drop-in center in metropolitan Denver that serves women, transgender individuals, and their children who are experiencing poverty, many of whom are also experiencing homelessness. Those who seek assistance from The Gathering Place also have access to a wide range of programs and services that meet basic needs, foster personal growth, and build community.
We are kindly requesting the following items until Wednesday, 12/15 at 1200. There will be collection bins in the lobby areas of both the Ed2 North building and the Ed2 South building. Thank you in advance for your kindness and contributions!

We want to remind you to visit our Everything but Scrubs Shop and place your CON apparel order! The site has fleece, vests, and a sweatshirt. All items are available in black and grey and have the CON logo.

Please place all orders before NOVEMBER 27th, 2021

The estimated pickup period is December 16th-17th (the week of fall semester finals)
More details will be emailed closer to this time.
