Notes from faculty/staff All Hands with President Carlos Carvalho:
- We have about 210 students across three classes on campus. First class graduates in 2028.
- About 40 full-time faculty, a number we expect to roughly double in the coming years.
- $125 million raised toward the $300 million campaign launched last year to keep tuition free for every student, forever — and our strongest financial year yet. That means we can tell every student who walks in the door that we have the resources to see them through to graduation.
- On track for accreditation in spring 2028. We hold candidate status with the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, our self-study is underway, and if our timeline holds we will graduate our first class as accredited students.
- Our students spent the summer at startups and established companies across the country, VCs and finance firms, at the SEC, in a Senate office, with a state attorney general, and abroad in Mexico, France, England, and Panama.
Three goals for the year:
1. Raise $50 million, much of it toward a permanent home. We'll stay downtown, close to where students live, and we're building for about 500 students.
2. Enroll a fall 2027 class at the same admissions bar or higher.
3. Grow our STEM offerings, hire more faculty for our growing STEM concentrations, build out our economics program, and hold our first class in the Applied Engineering Lab in Bastrop, taught alongside Boring Company engineers.
