What a fun way to kick off your dental hygiene journey!! 💜 From a campus scavenger hunt to hearing from our DH1 Clinic Coordinator and Department Chair, learning all about SCADHA, discovering all the resources ACC has to offer, AND our favorite part… trying on and picking out your loupes! 👓🦷🤓

Day 1 of DH Care I lab is officially in the books!! (or as Dr. Reeves likes to call it… “Stab Lab”)💉🤪

Today we all passed our didactic exam on local anesthesia 🥳 and got to practice infiltrations on our typodonts. Tomorrow, we trade our plastic patients for real classmates and the real fun begins. 🫣

Meet our SCADHA Class Representative, Jill! 🦷✨

Outside of class, she loves sewing, painting, reading, listening to audiobooks, and spending time with her husband. She also has two pet frogs, collects taxidermy, and could happily live on tortilla chips and coffee. If you ever need a random historical anecdote or some obscure trivia, Jill is your girl!

Before dental hygiene school, Jill had no dental experience, but she jumped right in and has embraced every opportunity to learn and grow along the way!

She ran for Class Representative because she wanted to make the most of her time in dental hygiene school by getting involved in our student organization.

Her favorite class so far has been anatomy, especially learning about the muscles and tooth anatomy. As she heads into second year, she’s looking forward to continuing to build her clinical skills, getting involved in the community, and making even more memories with her classmates.💜

Our SCADHA Pickleball Fundraiser is happening Friday, August 14th from 5:30–9:00 PM at Bouldin Acres. Whether you’re playing or cheering from the sidelines, we’d love to have you there!

🦷 Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting ACC’s SCADHA chapter and our dental hygiene students. 💜
