Registration is now open for the upcoming Mesoamerica Meetings in Austin, TX, on November 5-7 (See link in shared post). Several archaeologists working at Tikal are flying in to present their finds during the two-day symposium, and we will open with a one-day workshop devoted to the Xultun astronomical texts.

All conference events will be held at the Thompson Conference Center on UT's Campus.

For the first time we've indentified a Maya mathematician. His name was Sak Tahn Waax, "White Chested Fox." Published today in the journal Antiquity (see link in the comments below).

His moniker translates to "White-chested Fox."
