As part of the year-long Policy Research Project “Delivering Water Sector Reform in Ukraine,” LBJ School graduate students recently participated in a simulation led by Professor Sachin Shah that transported them to 2030. 🤘

Representing Ukrainian government agencies and other institutions, students worked to uncover why a wastewater treatment plant had not improved water quality and identify the challenges standing in the way of reform.

Through the exercise, students explored how funding, institutional coordination, and access to data shape policy outcomes. PRPs give LBJ students hands-on, real-world problem-solving experience that prepares them to tackle complex policy challenges beyond the classroom.

Two new minors. Two more ways to add LBJ to your UT Austin experience. 🤘🎓

Introducing the LBJ School of Public Affairs’ new undergraduate minors for Spring 2027: National Security and International Development.

Both are flexible, 15-credit-hour programs open to all The University of Texas at Austin undergraduates, regardless of major or college.

And you don't have to wait until Spring 2027 to get started. Coursework you've already completed or are taking right now may count toward your minor once you're admitted.

Last week, LBJ School alumna Stacey Abrams (MPAff '98) returned to the Forty Acres for an Evening with Stacey Abrams at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.

She sat down for a conversation about democracy, voting rights, leadership, artificial intelligence, and the role each of us can play in shaping the future.

We’re proud to see our alumni out there changing the world and even prouder when they come back to the Forty Acres to share what they’ve learned and be part of important conversations.
