Bryan Jung β24 Selected as Recipient of the Brant Bousquet β84 Texas-Exes Memorial Scholarship
Brant Bousquet β84 was an enthusiastic Pike brother whose faith-filled lifeβs work in the nonprofit sector impacted thousands of lives and inspired many Pike brothers. After Brant passed away unexpectedly in 2022 at age 56, several of his Pike brothers partnered with his widow, Virginia Bousquet, and numerous Pike donors to endow a Texas-Exes Memorial Scholarship in his honor.
The Brant Bousquet Memorial Scholarship supports an outstanding Beta Mu Pike academic and student leader each year.
βThe fact that Brantβs Pike brothers have come together to honor his life in such a significant way demonstrates the strength of the relationships and respect built in college and beyond. "says Virginia Bousquet.
The 2026β27 scholarship was recently awarded to Bryan Jung β24, a senior Economics major from Fort Worth.
In accepting the $4,400 award, Bryan said: βI am committed to honoring Mr. Bousquet's legacy by continuing to serve others and upholding the high standards of excellence, leadership and dedication this award represents, both in the classroom and in the community.β
Bryan is an academic standout and leader at the Pike House, having served as rush captain, secretary and sergeant-at-arms before taking on the role of treasurer in his upcoming senior year. His fraternity leadership centers on peer advocacy. He's the chapter's first PIKE HQ Garnet Dot health and safety trainer, and he directed health and wellness initiatives for the broader UT Interfraternity Council as IFC Director of Health and Wellness in 2025-26.
Beyond the Pike House, Bryan is a member of the Silver Spurs, the organization that cares for UTβs legendary mascot Bevo XV. He also mentors underprivileged youth through the Neighborhood Longhorns Program and volunteers at university events.
This summer, Bryan is back home in DFW working as a Division Finance Intern at American Airlines, where he builds contract escalation models and delivers financial analysis for senior leadership. After graduation in May 2027, Bryan hopes to pursue a career in commercial real estate or corporate finance.
Previous Pike recipients of the Bousquet Scholarship include Inaki Guerrero β22 and Caden Dragoo β21. To contribute additional funds to the Bousquet Scholarship endowment, please go to https://www.texasexes.org/BrantBousquetFund or contact John Ward at [email protected] or 214.675.5160.
