With a master’s degree in Engineering from China, Hongxia Z, who also goes by Mary, came to ACC ready for a new chapter. After completing ESOL, she is now pursuing degrees in Education and English, earning As, and working toward her dream of becoming an educator.

Without access to formal education as a child, Sattina O. taught herself to read and write and later earned a GED. Now, as an ESOL student, she is building the English skills she needs to pursue her dream of becoming a social worker. She hopes her journey inspires others to believe in themselves.
