We sent a team of undergraduate students to compete among 16 universities at the 2026 ICSC & UNC Retail Real Estate Case Competition in Las Vegas. Case competitions are just one of the many ways we enrich our students education & build real world skills setting them up for success in their careers post graduation.

Thanks to ICSC UNC Wood Center for hosting another great competition.

Earlier this spring, a group of our Emerging Leader Council members toured Q2 Stadium, home of ! It was a perfect Austin day to get a behind the scenes look and dive into the details behind the design. We love how so much effort went into showcasing our local businesses and fostering a sense of community in this stunning stadium.

Emerging Leaders Council level is comprised of recent UT graduates working in commercial real estate, generally with up to five years industry experience. The Emerging Leaders Council provides opportunities to build professional connections and engage with the Real Estate Center early in one’s career.

Last week, we welcomed over 300 Council Members, industry professionals, and guests to our Spring Real Estate Conference. We were truly inspired by the visionary spirit and selfless leadership of Patrick and Kathy Terry of . We received a candid assessment of our current economic landscape from the insightful Dr. Julia Coronado. Jim Davis, the President of UT Austin, provided us with updates on the real estate developments within the UT community. A panel of experts shared their insights on data centers, energy, and AI infrastructure, discussing the direction we’re heading. Our final panel explored the vision and next steps for the UT Medical Center and the surrounding communities. We finished out the conference with roundtable discussions & opportunities for our attendees to share their thoughts on relevant topics impacting the CRE industry.

The Texas McCombs Real Estate Center brought a group of its top students to Denver for a two-day trek focused on real estate finance, development, and investment.

Through a series of office visits, project tours, and networking events, students connected with a wide range of real estate firms—including investment managers, developers, and advisory groups—gaining firsthand exposure to the strategies and decisions driving the industry today.

Experiences like this bridge the gap between the classroom and real-world ex*****on, preparing students to step into the industry with confidence.
