It’s September 1st and that means it’s the official first day of the Greater Austin Alumnae Association’s 2026-27 year! 💎🎉

Thank you to all who renewed or joined for the very first time! We already have 70 members for the new year which is incredible! And thank you to all of you who came in-person to our kickoff meeting this past Saturday! We had over 30 sisters join us for the momentous occasion!

While we had a lot of fun at this get-together, we handled business as well and elected our 2026-27 Alumnae Association Officers. Please welcome and welcome back these amazing sisters to the Board:

As the 2025-26 Greater Austin Alumnae Association year officially comes to a close today, we want to thank our 45 dues-paying members for their support, involvement, and dedication over the past year. Without each of you, we truly could not run this alumnae association.

Your commitment to our alumnae association and our sisterhood means more than you know. 🦁✨

We are super happy to report that we filled not one but TWO one-gallon bags of pop tabs for ADPi’s Sisterhood is Poppin’ challenge! 💎🎉

Thank you to all the sisters who brought in pop tabs to yesterday’s kickoff meeting so we could have a greater collective impact! We have reported the donation to ADPi and sister Grace will be dropping off the pop tabs at Ronald McDonald House Central Texas very soon. 🏠❤️

Details about our kickoff meeting today:
Who: Alpha Delta Pi alumnae in the greater Austin, Texas area
What: Greater Austin Alumnae Association 2026-27 Kickoff Meeting
Where: Delta Chapter House Dining Room (2620 Rio Grande St, Austin, TX 78705)
When: Saturday, August 29 from 2-4 p.m. then from 4-6 p.m. we’ll be playing Mahjong!
Why: To kick off our 2026-27 year, of course! And, to elect our 2026-27 Alumnae Association Officers!

We want YOU to join us THIS Saturday, August 29 for our kickoff meeting from 2-4 p.m. Afterwards, we’ll be playing Mahjong from 4-6 p.m.

Things to keep in mind…

1. Make sure you’ve RSVP’d if you haven’t already. The Evite link was sent to everyone via email but you can also access the link to RSVP via the Linktree in our bio.

2. Fill out our interest form (Google Form) to let us know if you’re interested in a leadership position this year! The link to fill out the form is in our Linktree in bio.

3. Sisters are encouraged to wear pin attire in ADPi colors (blue, white, and/or violet). Wearing your badge is also encouraged!

4. Bring your pop tabs! We will see how many one-gallon Ziploc bags we can fill for ADPi’s Sisterhood is Poppin’ Pop Tab Drive!

5. Parking info:
Please utilize paid on-street parking around the Delta Chapter House. Examples: Rio Grande St, Salado St, or W 28th St. There’s a few different ways to pay but, we recommend using the Park ATX app.
If you’d rather park in a garage, the San Antonio garage is an 8-minute walk from the house.
Please do not park in the parking circle at the front of the house as the chapter women need that area clear for an event they’re having that evening.

6. If you plan on staying to play Mahjong, please bring your NMJL 2026 card with you if you have one!

With only ONE week left until our kickoff meeting, we want to highlight a couple of our members who have found tremendous value in being part of our local alumnae association.

Meet Karen. She has been a member of the Greater Austin Alumnae Association since its establishment over 8 years ago! In her own words, here’s why she continues to be a member:
“Joining the Greater Austin Alumnae Association, to me, is like joining ADPI for the first time! 🙂 (Remember getting your bid card?!?!)
Finding a place where you belong, building friendships, supporting one another and continuing to give back to our community.  
Whether it’s preparing meals at RMH, making ribbon pins for Jewel Degree, playing mahjong, attending the annual ornament exchange, a sisterhood weekend in Salado, Galentine’s dinner or the monthly lunch bunch, there’s always an opportunity to spend time with sisters!
Your annual dues go a long way towards supporting our local chapters.🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵”

Now meet Stormy. She has been a member of GAAA for over 3 years. In her own words, here’s why she continues to be a member:
“I renewed my membership in the Greater Austin Alumnae Association because it gives me the opportunity to meet and build connections with ADPi sisters where I live. Staying involved also allows me to remain connected to the sisterhood that has been such an important part of my life.”

These two sisters have shared just a glimpse of the impact being part of this alumnae association has had on their Alpha Delta Pi experience after graduation. It’s not just four years! This past Sunday, sisters Samantha, Debby, Jordan, and Lynn volunteered to cook at the newest Ronald McDonald House, located at Texas Children’s Hospital North Austin. On the menu was crispy chicken nuggets, organic quinoa and brown rice, and stovetop green beans. 🏠❤️👩‍🍳
