Now accepting applications for CONNECT Fellows! The deadline to submit applications is August 7, 2026, by 11:59 pm CST.

CONNECT brings together graduate students and community organizations to enhance impact through collaboration on data and evaluation strategies.

About CONNECT:
- Fellows collaborate with organizations as a consultant, contributing insights and recommendations through a structured project.
- Fellows gain hands on experience, build their network, and develop project management skills.
- Projects span 3-4 months with weekly commitment ranging from 5-12 hours a week.
- Each fellow receives a $2,000 award for participating in CONNECT.
- Most projects are remote and asynchronous, though some projects may request in-person work for interviews, evaluation, or other activities.

Futures Beyond Militarism: Confronting Violence, Restoring the Sacred
A twoā€‘day conference bringing together scholars, artists, and activists to imagine and enact global alternatives to militarism.

šŸŽ¬Day 1: Thursday, April 23 | 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Join us for a free public screening of Mālama Mākua (2025)ā€”winner of the Audience Choice Award at the 2025 Hawaiā€˜i International Film Festival. The documentary traces grassroots efforts to return militarized lands to Native Hawaiian stewardship and connects local resistance to global movements for demilitarization and environmental justice. Screening followed by a Q&A with the director, cast, and producer Dr. Laurel Meiā€‘Singh (UT Austin).

šŸŒDay 2: Friday, April 24 | 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
The full conference convenes international scholars and activists to explore how communities confront violence, restore sacred relationships, and build sustainable, interdependent futures. Free breakfast and lunch provided. Special performance by Viva Palestina Orchestra.
