Native American and Indigenous Studies -The University of Texas at Austin

Native American and Indigenous Studies -The University of Texas at Austin The Native American and Indigenous Studies program (NAIS) supports students and faculty whose research engages in Native American and Indigenous issues.

The Native American and Indigenous Studies (NAIS) program at the University of Texas at Austin has a global, comparative focus with a particular strength in the Americas. We support students and faculty whose research engages with the languages, cultures, histories, and current political struggles of indigenous peoples. NAIS provides university-wide recognition for the work of professors and gradu

ate students in the field; establishes a community of scholars dedicated to the field; and facilitates the university-wide coordination of events such as conferences and visits by activists, authors, scholars, and other speakers. We also provide a home on campus for indigenous undergraduates and graduate students.

40 Hours for the Forty Acres, UT's annual campus-wide fundraising campaign, is now live! The Program in Native American and Indigenous Studies is raising funds for student-led initiatives, scholarships, internships, and student research in Native American and Indigenous Studies.

Our campaign officially launched today at 6 AM CST and runs through Thursday, May 8th at 10 PM CST. We invite you to visit our 40 for Forty campaign page (linked below) to read more about our program and what we are fundraising for.

If a donation is not possible at this time, we would be grateful if you could share our campaign page through your networks to help spread the word. We thank you so much in advance for any support you may be able to offer to enable us to continue carrying out our mission here on campus.
